Turn a Selfie into an Aura-Color Portrait

I went with a warm apricot (#e39a6b), and the photo decided it more than I did.

The chin dropped slightly, one shoulder pushed forward, the gaze leaving the lens — that combination reads as someone still choosing his words. A cool color would have hardened that hesitation into coldness. So apricot: a color that offers warmth without stepping forward. I let the glow ring sit thick along the shoulder line and thin out toward the crown.

The background is a slate blue, three steps darker on the complementary side. It does one job: push the apricot forward so the light looks like it belongs to him rather than to the hallway. The only place the color touches skin is a faint bounce on the cheekbone and the bridge of the nose.
